HIGH ANGLE RESCUE IN THE AREA OF MT LAKE ROAD

On Saturday June 18th at 1720 hours: 

The Berkeley Springs Volunteer Company was dispatched alongside Morgan County Emergency Medical Services for a High Angle Rescue in the area of Mountain Lake Road.

Squad 1 and Morgan County EMS Medic 7-5 responded.

The patient reportedly fell 75 feet down a steep embankment then into the water where she was pulled out of the water and onto the embankment by a Good Samaritan. Squad 1 and Medic 7-5 arrived on the scene, Chief 1 established command and confirmed the dispatched information. As EMS crews treated the patient rope rescue operations were initiated, Safety 101 was assigned as the Incident Operations Safety Officer. Squad 1’s crew assisted EMS Personnel with patient packaging and care prior to extrication. Patient was extricated via stokes basket rope rescue system then placed into the Medic unit for transport.

Command was terminated, Chief 1 and Squad 1 returned in service.
