MVC AT WAUGH ROAD ON SEPTEMBER 15TH 2022

On September 15th at 2039 hours the Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the 1300 block of Waugh for a MVC with no injuries. Squad 1 responded Chief with four, SGT 1 and Safety 101 responded to the scene. While responding the ECC advised a single vehicle into a tree with no injuries. Squad 1 and the Chief arrived on scene to find a pickup truck into a tree. Upon approach of the vehicle it was determined there was a patient heavily/severely entrapped in the vehicle. Chief 1 established command, immediately requested EMS and the next due rescue be dispatched as well as the next due engine for the landing zone. SGT 1 was appointed as operations, Safety 101 operated as the safety division. Command requested Roy’s Service Center to respond with a wrecker to assist with the rescue operation. After a lengthy 51 minute extrication the patient was treated by EMS personnel and flown out by Life Net Air Medical.
